I was at an event the other day and was chatting with one of the vendors (a complete stranger).
She pulled out a product and told me it would be really good for me because it helped with menopause!
I replied "So what are you telling me this for??"

I mean, why didn't she just tell me I look a hundred years old and all dried up?! Does anyone else think this is a bit forward to say the least?

I immediately ran home and applied creme to my face (just kidding) ;)

I would have told her it wasn't doing much for her.
Oh that's hilarious! She was probably desperate to make a sale and hadn't used that line yet, and just blurted it out to the next person she saw.
Oh - MY! LOL! Are we getting to that point already??? I think it's a bit "forward" myself, bless her heart! She'll find out someday herself! Chin up hon, we only get better with age! :D
Well complain all you want but some of us hit menopause head on naturally at age 36. Talk about thinking life is all down hill from there. I would have explained that stuff is probably bad for pregnant women and your doctor would want you to avoid it at all costs. :)
Lol, thanks guys, you are all great and have given me a good laugh! She actually looked much older than me. I should have used Rosemarie's or Amy's answers. hahaha!
p.s. When I told her I didn't need it and wasn't having any of those problems, she said that perhaps it was just because I looked tired...which brings me to a whole other issue. WHO tells people they look tired? Don't you hate it when someone does that? I mean even if you are tired, do really want to look it? I have had circles under my eyes my whole life and it always amazes me when someone tells me" you look tired - you have dark circles."
Well, thanks for mentioning that; I never would have known!
I am going through menopause... I might have thanked her for her help..... but not on a ""bad" day when someone can get hurt, LOL..
A bit over the top. Sometimes people don't think. Gail.
Hi Barbara,
Some people just engage the mouth before the brain gets going. Yes, it's kind of rude to assume you are a certain age.

I just ignore them.

Betsy
That's OK ladies - when I was 37 and wheeling my newborn around town the lady at the counter at the Post Office told me she was a beautiful baby, and asked was I her grandmother??

Now I'm 52, and people remark on how young I look - I think it's all in their perception!
