Kodiak Dream is a 15.2hh, dark bay, 5 year old Quarterhorse Gelding. He is flashy but sensible, stylish but sane. Kody is being offered for sale as a green horse who is ready to start in any discipline you'd like. He has the speed and depth of heart required for eventing or barrel racing. Kody is a well mannered young man who gets along with other horses, shares his stall with a calf, is compatible with children and dogs and is a well-rounded, good looking, good natured guy. Kody will be sold with a vet check at time of sale. All his shots are up to date, as is farrier and worming. If you would like Kody to become your dream horse, please contact us, he’s always pleased to have company.  After much discussion with Kody, we settled on $2,500.00 as a price, which doesn't really reflect his value, but he felt was fair.

Hi, I have been considering a freelease with or without the option to buy. I am an older rider, 50ish and have never owned a horse before. I don't want to take on more than I can handle.
Would you consider a freelease for a set time, maybe 6 to 8 months? If Kody and I were a good match, I would be prepared to take the plunge and buy him outright after the freelease.
Is this an option you would consider?
I'm an intermediate rider, mostly English and a little western. I work with a coach and I'm interested in Chris Irwin's
approach to training.
Let me know your thoughts!
Thank you for your interest, but I'm afraid I'll have to pass. Too much can go wrong on a free lease, and if I'm going to give up control of my horse, it will be because he's sold. I would suggest that you and your coach start looking for a horse that would be suitable for you, maybe even a part board situation where the owner may want to sell eventually. There are a lot of horses out there that need good homes, a lot of rescues that need to be fostered, which is another avenue you could pursue. Thanks again for your interest and good luck.
I understand entirely! Hope you find a great home for Kodiak:)
