Hi, I'm Suzanne and am an English woman living in France. I rode as a child and had my own horses from 12 to 16, then I gave up for many silly reasons.
In 2008 my 10 year old daughter started riding and last year just before my 40th birthday I started again. The first time I hauled myself up and after an hour colapsed off and could hardly move for a fortnight, the second time wasn't much better but by the third I was hooked. The stables I ride at had many ex-racehorses for use in the riding school and the owner (Severine) also breeds, trains and races horses so I also rode a couple of them. Severine often rode a racehorse called Quick Love when we went out and I fell in love and last October she retired from racing and was put up for sale. After a few months of thinking of nothing else I decided to buy her despite her being rather too much for me, I loved her. I had a couple of months to try her out and well you know, when you are in love!
In May I rode the oldest horserace in Europe at Semur en Auxois on her, then in August our closest race track runs a race for amateurs so I rode that, there were 8 from our yard there all on ex-racehorses and ranging in age from 12 to 41. Thats me in pink! .New link, should work now!
Yesterday I did my first one day event, in the baby class, we didn't do brilliantly classment wise but I loved it and it was Quick Loves first time too so I'm delighted.
So thats me; 41 with 4 kids (3,5,8 and 12) and mad on horses again.
Looking forward to spending more time on here.
Suzanne
