Blu is a wonderful addition to our Falabella breed!  The Falabella is from Argentina and is considered the true and original miniature horse breed.  The great advantage is their wonderful temperaments and the fact that you can treat them just like a horse.  Mine are outside (except close to and after foaling) 24/7 and are out in a pasture.  They don't founder like ponies and other minis do and are very hardy (we live in Pefferlaw, Ontario)!  They are absolutely wonderful with children and adults alike!

Tiny and beautiful!  What is the difference, if any, between a miniature horse and a Falabella?  I understand they were first bred in the French courts and then in Brazil, but that is all I know.

This is my 2 week old baby Falabella, Blu.  He was born by surprise!  My mare was a maiden mare and she was pasture bred until she came out of season so I wasn't totally sure when she was due.  She didn't even show til 2 months before he was born.  I had a baby monitor on her every night and came out one morning (with no show or evidence that she was ready the day before) and I had 2 faces looking out at me!  He is a perfect black colt with stunning blue eyes!

I don't get excited on the foal watch until I see tails braided.
