That is one uncomfortable little lady :-))  The condition of her mane says it all;;;;

The puppys are do sweet! I see they are off cam. I hope that doesn't mean they are in trouble. All the best with the pups Shannon.

I am glad that Shannon was there to take them, no telling what those people would have done after they let the mother die, horrible people.

I will be watching the cam when I can to watch their progress, they are adorable, and I hope that they all know you are caring for them...Hugs to the little pups. <3

Well, Shannon is helping, but trust me they are here 24/7. LOL   Hope you can pull them up - they are too cute.

Somewhere along the way, I  missed the puppy story but I can fill in the blanks with your last message. What a very kind thing for Shannon to do on top of all the other work she has. How irresponsible and clueless some people are towards animals. Good luck with this little bunch of love and God bless you, Shannon for doing this.

We have some rescue pups on cam #3.

UPDATE:  Puppy story.

The owner of this litter asked Shannon some questions regarding the mom and the way she was acting after having the pups.  Shannon told him she felt the mother had retained a puppy and the puppy was decomposing inside of her - making her septic.  Shannon told him that the mom WOULD die if he didn't get her taken care of.  He let the mother die.  When she died Shannon begged to take the pups, they refused as they wanted to raise them...it would be "fun".  Two pups died and they finally agreed to give them up to us.  The released them to us last evening.

There are six puppies left...five males and one female.  They look to be german shepherd / chow / something crosses.  They are wormy, have fleas, have diarrhea (no clue what they tried to feed them as they smelled like dog food when we got them) and they are scrawny.

They are all nursing well, sometimes better than others, but they are coming around and will hopefully survive.

We have:

Girl (red collar)   3/11/13 7:00 pm - Weighed 15.2 ounces
                             3/12/13 6:00 am - Weighed 16.08 ounces

Boy (black puppy no collar)  3/11/13 7:00 pm - Weighed 14.2 ounces
3/12/13 6:00 am - Weighed 16.06 ounces  I am most worried about this pup  He cries ALOT

Boy (dark blue collar)  3/11/13  7:00 pm - Weighed 14.6 ounces
                                    3/12/13  6:00 am - Weighed 16.02 ounces

I love this little Mare. I am saying some prayers...

Sulking in the darkness doesn't describe Pearl tonight. Very restless could be closer. Love the "hairdo" she gave herself by rubbing on the gate. LOL

Thats great news that she is getting miserable. :D But hope all goes well with her.

Anastacia is going to be a Diva! Funny little gal. lol

Miss Pearl is absolutely miserable.  I see her sulking in the darkness of her stall.  I don't think it will be much longer before we see her little one.  Hoping for a great outcome for her...her past history is pretty bleak.

We opened up another area for Kitty and Anastacia to help them adjust to being around the other mares.  This allows them to get up close to Temptation and Pearl, but still not have them together.  We worked on video/photos of Anastacia today.  I will post as soon as I have time.  In the meantime I thought you might enjoy this photo.  Anastacia has been licking the chalk board....funny how she chose what to lick and what not to....I think it's a sign of what's to come....someone plans to be the center of attention....hmmm
