My Hanoverian is named Shakespeare a.k.a. Bear. He was born in June 2001 in Germany -- sired by Shakespeare in Love out of Wonda. I purchased him in 2006 from Ferdy Haupt and Diane Creech, and he's everything I could have dreamed for in my first horse. I really didn't know much about the Hanoverian breed before I got my boy. I had no idea they were so social and had such willing and happy temperaments ... at least that's been my experience. He's smart too and has a terrific sense of humour and of course, he's very athletic. I bought him for dressage and I remember the first time I popped him over a couple of jumps just for fun ... his power was incredible and greater than anything I'd ever experienced ...and they were only iddy biddy cross rails! He is the light of my life and based on my experience with him so far, I would definitely buy another Hanoverian if given the choice. I'm a convert!
