Hi i already know who my dream horse is, Mayday <3 the problem is my parents wont let me get him ... i even trained him, with the help of my teacher, and i love him sooooooooo much and I CANT HAVE HIM. but i know that when im older and have the money to get a horse i will buy him right away, and my teacher promised she wont sell him to anyone but me <3

Hey amber,
450-500 is normal to pay for board around me, which is why I'm horseless =(
If you look around you might find someone, maybe in the same barn(that is if it works the same around there as it does around me) that is personaly leasesing a horse, and you could end up paying less. Well that depends on how many rides a month you want.

im currently looking to lease a horse where i ride but most stables where i live are a round 425-450 to board :( and 300 to lease but im not sure if i should lease a horse somewhere else cause i like thta place where im riding at :) its just expensive there!

So like most people here, I do not and never did own a horse. I have had a few single riding lessons and will be doing some consecutive lessons in january. There is only one place near me that offers english riding lessons for those who do not own there own horse so I have to pay there rates. I am older then most (by most I mean I am half way through my teen years and have 1 year after this year in high school) but I plan on owning my own horse someday, actully I'd like to own my own stable even though it won't bring in much money.

This is a great group! I really feel that we horseless people are in the minority, especially on barnmice! I leased a horse for most of last year but can't afford to buy him. I've been riding for about 20 years and still can't wait for the day I bring my first horse home ...

Hello everyone! Sad to say I fit this group too. I don't take lessons but I did trail ride many years. Some day I do want to own a horse again.

At my last lesson I cantered (but I've been doing that for a couple of lessons now) And I jumped! It was so fun, and the funny thing is, is that the horse I ride wasn't ment to jump them cuz she was only trotting and they where low jumps, but she jumped about 2.
