I think your position is developing just fine, there are always going to be people that will nit-pick so try to ( as we say in this country) let it go to the keeper, it's a cricket term that means just let the bad ball go past without playing a shot. With regards to your back, the best way to have a flat back is to think about looking up and keep your chest up. Like I said, for some one that has had 10 or so jumping lessons, your doing very well. - Hey Jocelyn, just remember you've had several experienced horsepeople praise you too.
We all were beginners at one time. I assure you that your seat over the jump is better that mine was oh so long ago when I started learning to jump.
I am hoping to start hopping over some small jumps this winter. It will be hard for me because of my MS, but I've been working hard on the stability of my lower leg and gripping with my upper calf. This will be my first jump in over 30 years. I hope I look as good as you do! I know I won't be perfect.
