I'm afraid that video was marked "private" by the time I got to it. It would have been great to see. I haven't seen the War Horse film yet, but plan to in the next few days. We were waiting for the kids to go back to school. We were given tickets to see the play in Toronto as a Christmas gift. Yeah!

You probably know this already, Michael, but in addition to War Horse on stage, we have the live action film by Steven Spielberg to look forward to. I suspect I'll be crying just as much if not more than the women in both theatres. I cried during the preview on You Tube and during the video about the puppeteers who originated the National Theatre production - incidentally, two men.

I have no choice but to believe its OK for men to cry, lol!

Geoffrey, I have just reconnected with my Australian relatives, whom I haven't seen for 50 years. My cousin, Diana De Stoop, lives in Queensland and has four horses, including a young warmblood she just purchased. Also, my nephew is planning on moving to Australia early in 2013 with his Australian partner. She comes from just north of Melbourne, where her family narrowly escaped the big fires a while ago. They are staying in London until then because my brother turns 70 next year.

How I wish I could be there for your big horse trials. I love eventing - to watch and to compete. My competition days are over. Neither I nor Zuckie has the strength for it any more. Well, maybe he could with someone else, but arthritis would keep me on the ground for a serious cross country course. I used to love it so much - and fox hunting, too.

Hi John, 

Thanks for the report!  Did you see any of the dressage musical freestyles?  Yes, I will be going to "War Horse" when it comes out.  The trailer looks terrific!  Plus I'll be in a theater surrounded by crying women which I can add to my horsey memories!  I recently had to spend a bit more money than you did at the fair - new dressage riding boots. lol!

Hi John, sounds like you had some fun and showed some restraint at the show. We have the big Horse trials here in Adelaide this weekend. The Australian International 3DE. It's one of the four 4* in the world. Should be good fun too, lots of trade stalls as well as plenty of action. Cheers Geoffrey

A stone bruise? Oh, that's so easy to get an takes time to go away. I'm happy not to show, but I know so many people who have their showing plans disrupted by stone bruises - sometimes from the sand ring not being well maintained!

I could see where muscles siezing could be an issue for you. Its too bad, because I bet they are better in heat, but then what about the rest of you? Life is so complicated, isn't it - especially with horses!

I hope Mia is better soon. Zuckie is fine. I just want to keep him that way.
