I am looking for a side saddle but don't really know where to start. I have looked at the tack exchange but they don't have a great selection.... they are all too small. If I am an 18 in. in my hunter saddle how do I measure the side saddle or is it more like how comfortable it is? I really do not know! Any tips would be extremely helpful!
I do not currently have a sidesaddle, but hope to in the future. I am curious and very interested in riding aside. I used to ride bareback and occasionally id pull my right leg over the wither to the proper position for a slow walk. I liked testing my balance like that.
Hi I am new to the sidesaddle but am learning to ride one. I am part of an Esczramuza team(Woman's Mexican Drill Team), and in order to compete we have to ride sidesaddle. The side saddle we ride in is caled an Alvarda. I currently have a side saddle but it is to small for my leg. I have long legs, and I am a big girl so trying to find a pre-made saddle in my size is hard. My husband has a friend who is going to have one made for me in Mexico. Any suggestions, like on how to measure? that is the biggest concern.
Well, here's my big fuzzy modeling her work of art from the amazing Bett-Lynn Tattersalls! Betty-Lynn named my saddle the "Canadian Patriot" so I call her Patty for short. I haven't been up on her yet, it's spring and there is NO footing out here, but I'm just itching to!
Thank you again for the amazing work Betty-Lynn. It's just amazing!
If any of you ladies are in the Edmonton area, I want to let you know about an opportunity to get involved with a sidesaddle clinic and demonstration. May 27 - 29 is the Horse Showcase held at Fultonvale arena (Sherwood Park). On Saturday May 28, they will be hosting a 2-hour sidesaddle clinic and there is still room for approximately 4 riders. Cost is very reasonable, only $35/rider plus possible haul-in fee if the weather warrants we take it to an indoor arena. If you'd like to stay for the demonstrations on the Sunday, May 29, you would be more then welcome! Please contact me for more info.
Thanks!!!
