Dressage saddle, wow!

I have a small Quarter Horse, a passive-aggressive mare that had been badly abused and was starved half to death when I got her seven months ago. From the beginning, she has disliked every Western saddle I have tried on her and is none too fond of my Jeffries Falcon Hawk either, even though it fit her fairly well. I have been tearing my hair out trying to figure out what to put on her back.… Continue

A hurricane, great.

So last night was my ridding lesson.

It didn't go ahead.

I was home suffering with a cold, when a hurricane hit. Now see, the wind wasn't much of a problem. It was the rain. If the rain had been snow, then it would have been fine. But no-where here is built to handle that much rain. So obviously, my lesson did not go ahead. Welcome William!

Check out the photographs of my new pony, William. He is a 15.2 hand Dry Doc bred quarter horse gelding, five years old. I've had him for a month now and we are really getting to know one another. He is very quiet, willing and forgiving. Nothing much bothers this boy! Thanks so much to Patrick Mulligan who raised and trained William and took the time to ride with me and teach me some of his buttons. I'm so glad Willy failed at roping!

I've had William for 3 months now and I just love… Continue
