What can I say? The little man is an amazing little guy. It seems everything we throw at him...first time in a stall, first time in turnout on his own, weaning, getting on and off a trailer the first time is just uneventful. He really is an amazing little guy. He takes everything calmly, never panics, never freaks out....he just takes it all in stride (a little horsey stride that is!!). In his first breeders show (mine too...as I've never done this line showing stuff before...I've only ever seen the jumper or hunter ring)....he went in that ring so quietly, stood like a champ when the judge was checking him out.....the trotting in hand part he wasn't so sure about ...but once he figured it out he was stellar. It landed him 1st place in the CSH weanling class and was reserve Jr champion next to yearlings. Can you say proud? I'm really hoping this is who he is...mellow and taking things in stride...hopefully an amazing partnership that will lead us into the jumper ring...but that is a few years out.
For now, he gets to play and be a weanling, grow up and experience some line shows along the way. But what a fun process!!
