PLEASE help to save Cloud's herd!!! We with voices owe these horses that!

Please help to save Cloud's herd in Montana. Roundups are scheduled.
New born foals get killed, their mothers mamed and they bunch stallions together and then they fight in a bloody mess to the death - dont let this happen! Its senseless - based on corruption and greed from suits who know NOTHING about horses. These horses' ancestors settled this country - they have earned the right in history/legacy to have a range atop some mountains to live in peace!!!

www.thecloudfoundation.org

A great central place to, sign the petition, and also gives enormous info on how to voice your opinion to Washington DC, Montana and BLM all in one place.

Please take some time today and reach out - speak out - be a voice for Cloud and his heritage / herd. Because once those helicopters show up - there is not much he can do to protect his band!!!

*there is a new video on there from a Crow Elder that explains how in order to keep the gene pool alive for range breeding there must be a certain number of horses, below that number they will stop breeding - or the off spring will not survive!!! This is so important on many levels - the horse lovers of the world are completely responsible to stand up now and do something to protect them!!!

Christianna,

Most governments only care about "What is in it for them". These round-ups are happening all over the world, either by agencies like the BLM or theft by individuals. What this means is there is money in it for our governments pot of gold. They are probably getting paid a percentage on every slaughtered horse by the dog food companies. And, what is just as bad is the horses which are sent to our Hospitals, Universities and Colleges for the vet students, and DVMS.

The foals which are being saved by good people will at least have a great life, but it will mean not reproducing for the wild herds. When they become extinct, some senator will get on the bandwagon and start talking about "How did this happen"? You know the drill.

It is just a big cover-up, otherwise known as business as usual by the government. It makes me really sick to say the least, and I discussed several issues on this in other forums.

thanks for that! (cool picture above btw).
i am just sickened by this, this country sucks. the BLM is nothing but greedy fat cat losers who turn by the winds of lobbyists and $$$ they dont manage land or care about it in the least. they would NEVER be able to justify thinning these herds to point of non survival then. i want to throw up i am so mad!

I just called the BLM to protest and they already started the roundups the bitch said on the phone... "the BLM prevailed.." I am so hugely disappointed in this country.... I know that my trainer for over 5 years has offered to help with a separation and sterilization program and these asses just don't get it.... I am so bummed out right now, I've already been in the bathroom at work bawling for the horses... I am so sorry that people are so shortsighted and stupid.. and eat hamburgers...
In the name of Oliver and Cloud and the other horses getting rounded up right now, I hear your screams and I am so so sorry.... I promise I will continue to fight for you and voice my opinion on behalf of the wild horses.....

The BLM does thin the herds and it is necessary to preserve the habitat and the youngsters are not killed....I have been led to understand that it is not so that these herds need to keep being thinned so with your statements, I wonder why you say this. Many horses in the round-ups are injured and some killed including some babies. Many of these horses do not find homes after they are gathered so what do you think or know is happening to those horses?
The whole thing is being managed soooo poorly including the involvement of the man you refer to. Some people may not want the sterilizaton techniques used cause that reduces some profits that go into their pockets when they sell the horses for the meat market.
I would love to know for sure more of the truths in this issue.
Until the facts are more clear, I want the horses left right where they are on the open ranges where they were meant to be. And the horses being kept in pens for years now, need to be released or better accomodations made for them. Not slaughter! as some are proposing is the way to save money and no longer have to feed them. Sick! Really sick!!.

By the way, I am totally against this particular roundup and did sign the petition, reason being the man who the BLM is hiring to do this job. He illegally stole and sold for slaughter a number of horses that were to be put up for adoption. He used a government contract as a way to make himself a bunch of money on the side. The fact that he is allowed anywhere near these horses is appalling, and needs to be stopped!!

Dear god, why don't they learn about sterilization for petesakes..... ugh, I am going to sign the petition.

It is not legal in the US to round up wild horses and kill them! The BLM does thin the herds, it's necessary to preserve the habitat. The youngsters are not killed, they are taken to collection centers and offered for adoption. There is a huge adoption event about to take place all across the US in Sept. for people to get a chance to give these horses a good home.

you can sign the petition on facebook and /or call / email the political folks, i think that the more voices heard on this topic the better, even if over the border...
maybe cloud can be moved to the canadian rockies and be in peace!!! Since americans are too greedy and money worshiping to see the difference between right and wrong. sorry but i am boiling about this all week long...
thanks Wendy for caring to ask! we love you in Canada!!!
(was seriously considering moving to canada with my horses when the election was up - but Obama won so i stayed... ;)
