Hello Michelle,  Greetings from Wyoming.  Always glad to gab with gaited horse people.  You’ll have to forgive my incompetence with the web.  I have many opinions about the Walking Horse but thankfully cannot add to the fray because I cannot remember my password and cannot seem to retrieve it! Ha ha ha  I mainly trail ride in our great state but would love to, someday, venture abroad and ride.

Enjoyed your website........... You have some beautiful ones. I had a Spotted Allen Again Foal by the same mare as my Stud but lost him as a two yr. old with a broken leg. :(
My Stud was my first baby, broke his back at three months....so he has just been my pet but has produced wonderful foals. The Vets told me not to ride him. His Mom has been a wonderful trail and show horse for me. Flat shod. Here is a video of his last foal, we have way too much fun with the babies! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PS7GEpAZ1fA

No, I haven't done it (the trail rides). I have Multiple Sclerosis and NO endurance. Sort of ironic, I wanted to do endurance riding on Arabs, well ANY horse has more endurance than I do now!
I've ridden only 2 part THWs, no pure ones. One of the parts had the MOST INCREDIBLE flat footed walk, at least 6mph, a big over 16 hand gelding.
I'm saving the THW's for when I have no more hope of riding Arabs (sorry, I'm got hooked on them from youth.) It is just soooo nice to know that the THW's are there for when I am no longer strong enough or coordinated enough to trot. I am not saying that the gaited breeds are inferior by any means, I had many, many happy (short) trail rides on my Paso Fino mare.
