If you could get any piece of advice on training, competing, buying horses, overcoming show nerves, how to ride a movement - anything at all - from an Olympic rider, what would you ask him/her?
Post your questions below. We have a surprise for you next month! ;)
I think my question would be, "With all the stress of competitions and horse and client management, what keeps you grounded and happy doing your job and competing internationally?"
I am curious as to whether you have any superstitions or routines you do before competing - is there an order to how you get dressed or tack your horse up? Do you have a 'lucky' something that you need to have with you?
I would ask how they deal with show nerves and also with fear in general. Also, if I could ask a second question it would be: What do you do at a show if your horse is absolutely wild and flighty when you get there?
How did you narrow down which sport to put your efforts into (dressage, eventing or show jumping)? Was it based on a horse you had at the time? Or did you find horses to match your goals? Have you ever tried the other two?
