Once I had a ride but the night before I was REALLY sick, so was my dad. I thought I'd stay home and miss the ride. But I went. When I rode I was sooooooo much better! :) I love horses...

Hey! I have a Belgian x TB who I successfully compete as an eventer. I have attached a photo for you to see. It is very possible for them to jump, but I think it also depends on the horse. I have a 17'2'' mare named Molly (Good as…

I have a Belgian/Tbred that I bought out of the nurse mare as a weanling from Kinghaven farms. He's a big boy but surprisingly light on his feet and now at 18 is a schoolmaster. He was dressage trained, showed as an Ami-A Jumper and then the…

Oh I am going through the same thing, but it seems to be a bit longer of a heartattack process. One of my fur-babies has a nasty huge abscess in her foot and can no longer walk properly without limping in pain. it's just a god-awful thing to go…

Awww, my little girl (who is not so little!) is half belgian. She is six years old and stands at 16.2 hands. She's also part thoroughbred. The two breeds seem to conflict each other. She is the sweetest horse alive, on the ground. But…

I wear a winter paddock boot with a suede half chap, this keeps the feet and lower legs really warm. I also wear a thermal sock, you can buy them at any sport shop, and you can also put in a insole liner with an insulated bottom to keep the cold out…

I use battery-operated socks inside regular winter snow boots. I change out my stirrups to something big enough to accommodate the bigger boots. Toasty without getting too warm.

Hi, Michelle: I ride in the interior of British Columbia, where we get lots of cold and snow. I ride in Mountain Horse Ice High Riders, and they are a godsend! I wear thick wool socks in them, and they keep me warm and cosy through my tacking up…

When I get in the saddle (especially after an extended time) it feels like coming home. There are days I wouldn't get out of bed if it weren't for the horse chores! They are my recreation, my exercise, but mostly my therapists!

I just bought a pair of Mountain Horse Mountain High Riders. They rock! They have a lot of extra room in them for doubled socks and extra pant layers. They're very waterproof (my #1 criteria). They break in relatively quickly. I'm very…

Hi there,I hope this got your attention because I sure do need your help!I live in Houston, Texas, and if you know Houston, Texas - Houston has nasty winters sometimes that snow, and rain, and are humid, and gross and FREEZING all at the same time!! So I was wondering.. Does anyone know of any kind of Winter Boot that I can ride in? One that is snug and cozy and hopefully looks good too. A Bit About Me and my Horse(s)
Hi everybody! Obviously I am a horse crazy lover. I love to do trail riding, hunter, jumper (Although I don't compete in jumper, I do it for fun) and I am beginning to get into XC. I am rehabilitating and training my new Belgian Draft/TB cross of four months at the moment. I rescued her from a really run down place and they almost messed her up for life but now she is a happy and energetic six year old who likes cuddles and jumping over fences that she's not supposed to jump. I have three other horses, Cookies N Cream (racking horse), Everybody Loves Raymond (QH, but not rideable anymore :( ) and Bandit (my Paso Fino mix :) ). I have two miniature donkeys, Max and Harvey and two llamas, Cosmo and GiGi. I also have three dogs, Jenny, Angel and Charlie. Only two our of four of my horses are rideable. Cookies is no longer rideable due to an injury in her hoof. I am very sad because she was my first horse and I love her very much. Raymond is no longer rideable for several reasons, but we love him even though he can be a poohead. I am now searching for a new horse, somewhere around the area of Houston or Brenham, Texas. It must be rideable (of course) and it must be able to be ridden bareback (I love riding bareback, even jumping bareback). It doesn't have to be an english horse, a western trail horse is okay too. If you have any information please let me know :) xxx

P.S.: I need a new english saddle and western saddle!

For the Lost (Everyone Should Read This)

Posted on December 1, 2009 at 2:11pm 3 Comments

You may think this is just another story about a girl who lost her first horse... Or is losing her first horse. But I am losing my soulmate, my only friend, and the being who gave me a second chance at life. Cookies has extremely sever founder, and chances are grim. The poem below explains all, and I think everyone could relate to it. If you can't, you haven't experienced life or true love. Comment if you wish, but no mean comments, this is a really hard time for me.

Welcome to my group 'donkeys are equines too' . I too have two lovable mini donkeys. I want to start to break mine to drive. that is something they do really well. Never thought I would love something so small but they certainly make me laugh. Again welcome to the group.
