getting on bare back

to get on bare back you must...

1. make sure your horse won't take of and buck when you try to get on (that would be soooo painful)

2. stand on the left side of your horse

3. grab the mane on the bottom of your horses neck

4. step with your left foot, jump and swing your right leg over your horses back

5. if you are not fully up kick with your left foot and pull yourself up

yay!!!! you are finally on!!!!

We often get caught thinking our training begins once we have our horse saddled and ready to be ridden. It’s as if we are unconscious or robotic while we perform the repetitious tasks associated with this preparation. Teaching a horse to ground tie.

I'm of the opinion one of the best things you can do for you and your horse is to teach them to ground tie. Two reasons I like to teach horses to ground tie is for convenience and safety. We have all been there, we are up on our horses and realize we dropped something or we forgot something in the barn or trailer. Ok so I was talking to my Mum about Pony Club and she said I MAY be able to go someday. So I was just wondering how much Pony Club normally costs(in Australian money)? So we put in an offer for Summer and we pretty well have it accepted. For those of you who dont know Summer, she is a 6 yr old 14.2hh Dutch WB X Paint X Welsh (Dam is Paint and Sire is Dutch X Welsh). Beautiful Little Hunter Pony. The reason we were interested in buying her is because she is a pony that we want to take on for a project. Digging trenches - son of a DITCH

Ok, Ok, I know those of you back east have snow and all, and up in the Pacific northwest, rain is common - but here in So Cal, and especially here in the Mojave desert - we don't often get days and days of rain. We get days and days of WIND. Not wet stuff.

my wonderful horse

hello every one
i have a horse that has just had a super bad ingury he was found in the feild we called the vet and he tore his tendent and almost died. he has had lots of help and is on the road to recovery. he is an amazing horse and may never be ridden again so hopefully he wil be fine.

Fantastic Show in Thermal Jan 15-17!
