A Bit About Me and my Horse(s)
I am a horse lover. I live at Guys' Acres, in Worthington, a tiny part of the City of Greater Sudbury in Northern Ontario, Canada. I designed the, Nurtural Bitless Bridle, with the help of my husband Gerry and son Eric (both very natural horsemen) and our many horses.

Although we visited farms as children and share a love of nature, neither Gerry or I had owned horses before we bought a 500 acre farm in 1997. Like so many first time horse owners, we listened to everyone's wise advice to get older horses and professional help ... and then went out and bought beautiful young horses to grow up with and love. We've never looked back!

Thanks to natural horsemanship, we have come to develop the relationships we dreamed of with our horses. We created the Nurtural Bitless bridle to achieve better harmony. We delight in training young horses. One day, I aspire to dance with my horse in dressage .. or maybe reining!

One day, within the forseeable future, we believe that bitless bridles will become the norm!

Hi Zoe
Soon I will trying out the bridle I bought on my Cooper. I have some pics of him with it on in my photos. I want to try lunging him with it on, read the directions but haven't tried it yet. I don't know if the lunge line will fit into the circles on it? I have a hard time getting a lunge line onto a regular halter, so most times I just use the natural horsemanship rope halter. Lots of time to try anyway, I don't plan on riding him at least for another year, thinking of waiting until he is 4 and filled out some more.

Thank you so much for your message.

What he says there is just plain untrue. I presented a rebuttal at http://www.nurturalhorse.com/Nurtural_Bitless_vs_Dr.Cook_Bitless.html You will see the many crossunder patented bridles that preceed his patent. It appears that the man wants to stop progress in this wonderful bitless revolution - and that's just not right.

I spoke often with Dr. Cook and symathized with him over the many people who produced copies of his bridle. Mine is not a copy. I tried to work with him to find a win-win and promote bitless together. Instead he makes untrue statements about my bridle.

The wild mustang trainers recently commented "We have used and fully evaluted both sets of bitless. We do prefer the Nurtural for the Mustangs because they are so sensitive. Using the Nurtural lets the rider use really light hands. With the Dr. Cook we have found that the bitless needs a little more pressure. We really like they way the straps do not twist or pinch when the reins are pulled with the Nurtural. The whole "Nurtural" bitless is more stable."

So I understand when you see his postings and believe "the good doctor." Unfortunately, cold, hard, public irrefutable facts prove him wrong. It would be so much better if he would work for the betterment of the horse in general and support bitless horse associations as I do.

Thanks again for taking the time to write. Makes me feel much better!!

Zoe
