Hi everyone! I've just been lurking for a while because the end of the school year was upon me and I was mired in exams and report cards. Yesterday was the last day here in Mexico, and today I am clicking the "stop following this group" button because I am leaving on my horseback adventure in the Sierra Madras and don't want 10,000 emails when I return.

This afternoon I will hop a bus for Chihuahua, and from there take a train to Cerocahui, where I will ride out from Rancho del Oso www.mexicohorse.com

BTW, I too am a member of the over 50 crowd, and this ride is billed in the guidebooks as "... the most challenging ride in North America." We'll see how I survive it! Right now I am feeling a bit stiff in one shoulder because yesterday one of my students got a ball stuck up in a tree and I had to climb up (in my skirt and dress shoes) to get it LOL.

I hope I am not offending the 40's crowd here but I just wanted to invite the 50's folk over to the Over 50's Crowd.
See you there.

Hi all, I just joined and would like to say I too am in the over 50 club. I'm looking forward to getting to know more of you and this site.

Hi Barbara Sky Horse: I was the one who was going to start a group for the over 60's but have no idea how to actually start a topic and make it stick. I will soon be 65 and wanted to start this topic. Can anyone out there tell me how to start a topic rather than just post a comment. Gail Morse.

Shirley - I have looked, and didn't find a group for "Over 50 Riders" ... interesting concept ... *laughing* ... I have to admit that the honesty of admiting my age, is doing my head in ;-)

Lori - how’s the shoulder healing??? .. I laughed at ..“I had a glass of cabernet and some Aleve after I was done and felt great!” … good job, well done!! ;-)

Barb M. - First of all .. BIG Warm Welcome to Barnmice, and another BIG Welcome to the “Over 40 Rider”
Thanks for sharing that info about the "Century Ride" .. Now How COOL is That???
And especially about a woman who is 82, a long-time dressage rider, AND a coach!!
If that isn’t inspiration .. I don’t know what would be!!
I was saying not long ago that in the May issue of “Dressage Today” there was an article entitled “Timeless Art, Ageless Sport” which focused on 3 women Dressage riders.
Jane Hasslett and Anne Draper who are 72, and Betty Ellis who is 78!!
…. The article brought home to me that as I shop for my next equine partner, I should STOP prefacing every conversation with the seller with …. “Being as my Puissance Jumping and Grand Prix Dressage days are Over” … it affirms the negative, and as I’m only 53, I’m honestly beginning to see that it’s NOT necessarily So!!

Ruth - You’re Amazing!!
I’ve just been over touring your web site, and I signed up for the email.
…*laughing* … I got a Ton Of Good Info just in my Welcome Letter!!
Thanks!!
