I Do Sooooooooooo Agree with Your Trainer Lori!!!
I'm a BIG Time Believer in a solid foundation of Dressage for Every Riding Discipline!! ( just my honest opinion )

Hey, Lori! Kudos to your coach! And I do hope you get to ride at the show.

No problem, Lee. I'm only really expressing what it means to me. To some people it is about taking other people down ... to me it's about building people and up and, yes, being your best and building discipline. Thank you for your encouragement. :-)

Thanks to all for the wishes. I show H/J and am going to a show at the Kentucky Horse Park next week. I am going regardless and have alternate plans for people to ride for me. I am probably going to end up flating my mare in the HUS and having my trainer take her in the over fences classes. My jumper is going too and is being shown by a college age girl whose horse had to be semiretired to the lower levels. I love going to the KHP.
I noticed that there are a lot of dressage people here. You would be interested to know that I live very close to the former Paxton Farm now, Majestic Farm. I dabble a little in dresssage. My mare is solidly training 1st level and we are starting some 2nd level movements. My trainer believes in a firm dressage base for hunters and jumpers!

sorry if you took that the wrong way I realize martial arts are not about kicking butt, but about discipline...but can also make a huge difference to your own physical well being. that was what I meant by kick butt, be your best.

Thank you, Barbara, for your lovely comments and encouragement.

I definitely agree that the martial arts are just as much about the philosophy as they are the actual physical sport. To me it's not about kicking anybody's butt but my own ... and in the kindest, gentlest most loving and positive way possible. It's wonderful opportunity for personal fulfilment in a way I never imagined possible. And my horse will thank me for my much looser hips ... ;-)

Spread Your Wings And Fly!!
I’ll be keeping you in my warmest most POSITIVE thoughts!!
…*thinking about “life change” * ….
Aren’t You/We lucky to have 4 leggeds in our lives? Who seem to understand, and who are simply there … when we can’t express what we’re feeling with other two leggeds??

Go for it Cindy!!
( you all have me thinking I should be getting into one of the martial arts disciplines!)
But personally, I wouldn’t want to do the act of any martial arts, without understanding the “philosophy” of what and why. I think they surely go hand in hand … and I LOVE the Eastern “life” philosophies.

( …erm … are these posts to long??? L )
