I never SAID I was 40 Mary-Jo …..*wink wink nudge wink*
And lest we forget, Hiroshi Hoketsu of Japan, at age 67 was a Dressage competitor at the 2008 Olympics!!
Also, I just read a phenomenal article in the May issue of Dressage Today about 3 women ( two who are 72, and the other 78 ) who are all SERIOUS, Dressage Competitors!!! ..It Was VERY Inspirational!!
…*thinking* … ohhhh gawwwwwd … maybe there’s still time for me to learn that test!! ;-)

I just started riding in Jan. and I am 51!Had my first fall, too, sore, but did get back on in two weeks post fall. I would say I am over the age of caring what anyone thinks, but mature is putting it mildly. I would say I have lines and wrinkles and spare tires of experiences.
Oh and welcome Barby.

You guys are just a bunch of babies at 40. Try over 50 and pushing, I mean pushing!!!!! I did not start riding until I was 47. I am hoping that my horse and I are still around when we are both 75, because I still plan on riding. Horses are going to keep us all young.

Sometimes "mature" doesn't always apply. :-) But I can accept that for now until the next time I let go in total abandon, not giving a care about who says what or does what. :-)

Maybe we should just call ourselves "mature" riders??

… essentially I’m brand new to Barnmice, so today while having a wander about the place ( trying to figure out where I might fit in ) was overjoyed to find this group “The Over 40 Rider” … though …. Sadly I have to admit … I did cringe just a bit when I read …. “Site for the older rider” …*laughing* … but like it or not … I AM Over 40!!!
With All the …erm … challenges(?) that over 40 riders contend with, run into, and get smacked in the face with!!!
HelloOOOooo Everyone!! … *waving* …. Here I Am!!
