That's great, Catherin! Perfect time of year for it too, you have all summer to build up if you feel like it, and no rush.

From 50 degrees today to 85 this weekend. It is suppose to be beautiful. I however, like the fall the best for riding.

I am at a Homestead Hills Equestrian Centre, just north of Newcastle, which is east of Oshawa. (which is east of Toronto) suppose to be a lovely warm weekend hoping to ride Clyde in the outdoor arena for a change. Hope you all enjoy your weekend!!!!

A couple of years ago, I lost the mechanical advantage in my left knee, and can only use my right leg to mount-up. I have trained my Boy's to work with me on the off-side and we get along ok. This past year my Palomino trail horse had a sarcoid removed, then had cancer/chemo surgery, an eye infection and a hoof abscess. So, I really feel out of shape since we have not had much riding time. But I get out and walk in the desert, or ride the bike.

The only real way to get fit for riding is to ride. Everything else helps, but riding is the thing. A little bit every day; take it slow; nothing to prove; just have fun and enjoy being back in the saddle again. :-)

Australian! This site is wonderful. One of my fellow professors is married to a New Zealand fellow. They lived there for awhile and now live here in Pennsylvania. Don't worry about being out of shape Robin. If look you at the picture of Tyler and I you will notice I am out of shape too. Just start on little rides and work your way up. Even ten minutes up on a horse is great.
