It's not exactly on command, but I belong to an online equine clicker training community, and it's really funny how all the new people soon write in saying they have a very delicate question. 'Course all the oldtimers know what they are going to say; they want to know if it is normal that their gelding or stallion drops whenever they do clicker training (a few, a very few, actually get an erection, most just drop). It's because the horses love clicker training and get so focused on it they just relax and drop. So I would say whatever your guy really loves and focuses on. On the other hand, if you're willing to have a clicker and treats on hand at all times, you could easily train him to drop on command. You just have to catch him at it a few times, most horses learn anything REALLY fast when there's a marker and a food reward!

My one "shy" horse will drop when being brushed after a few minutes or general one on one attentions ...but...the big trick is to get him to leave it out, lol if you have it lulbricated, that is step one, then he gets all shy again...pulls it back, and being lubricated, who can get a grip on that? lol I have gone in after it, but that does not always work either, they get awfully possive of their member sometimes. I just have to "read' them when ever I am hosing them down, brushing, or what ever and I kind of know when they might be more willing to share on a particular day. I keep hoping that if I don't insist and pull and go in there and insist by grabing etc...they will eventually realize that it is just one of those strange human things that they have to comply to. I got some serious grooming to do his spring, since noone has done anything with them all winter.

That is the tricky part is getting them to show it, we don't always have the goods on hand to do the cleaning whenever they feel like dropping. Any ideas on how to get them to drop on command?

My older guy (31) loves the attention particularly with his weenie. lol so he is the easiest to clean. The others you have to sort of wait, and pounce when the time presents itself. lol I will have to sing that little song that we learned...that my coax them to "show their stuff" lol
