Great picture Cayle, and ride on! I havaen't been on Barnmice in a while and it is fun reconnect.
Here I am on Wild Bill at the Black mountain Ranch in McCoy, Colorado
Hi everyone! I have not been here in ages! And so much has happened! I think last time I rambled on, it was about trying to steer and trot on english saddle and getting frustrated. Well....after after 6 months of being on a lunge line in a very rigid enviornment, albeit I learned a great deal, I switched to western style riding and am having the time of my life! Mind you, did not ride ever until 2 years ago at age 65! The change really worked for me, my confidence has soared, I am loping, trail riding AND, best of all, my husband and I just got back from a week at a working dude ranch in Colorado and rode trails I would have fainted on before! Whew! I train once a week, on a retired reiner, the sweetest guy, very calm, and have no fear! Just had to tell you all this. I will be riding for the rest of my life!
OMG! What to do?? My lovely, beautiful horses are spooky! Not heaps, but enough to dump me far too often! Yesterday I took the rising 6 yr old to the forest for a hack- we have a lovely managed trail forest near by, with marked trails. All good, no issues until the end.... the rustling of the toitoi grass in the breeze caused him to wheel around, bolt, through the rough left by the loggers, and I was dumped again. As Im on warfarin, it's not good!!
The Equine Right To A Quality Life movement (equineright.com) started an important petition for Canadians who are members of provincial horse councils/federations/Equine Canada.

You can help horse rescues and horses too!
Thank you
