I think alot of people have confidence problems, no matter what age. But we bounce better when we are younger, when we hit the ground, lol.

Thanks, Lee, I am glad to find some people my age. All of my riding friends are quite a bit younger than me, but I enjoy all age groups. It keeps ya young at heart, and honestly some days I feel 36, lol. Except for the darn nerve palsy in rt arm and my achy knees I am a happy camper.

Hi, I just posted a video on core exercises for riders- I work with clients in their 50's, 60's and 70's on these exercises. Check it out at: http://www.barnmice.com/video/core-exercises-for-riders

I had 2 of my own horses when I was younger. I did alot with them, stuff that I can't believe I did back then, like breaking in a horse all by myself, getting bucked off, putting up with spookyness, just getting back up and keep going and going. Sliding off their back end, doing backward flips off their backs, riding out in the pasture with just a halter and lead rope at the canter, etc. Now 30 some years later, when I finally was able to get another horse, I can't believe that used to be me back then! I changed alot, and not the way I want to be. I have to work on alot of things, including confidence and courage. At least I can say I got another chance, and that is priceless!

The Restoring Our American Mustangs (ROAM) Act - HR 1018, introduced by U.S. Representatives Rahall and Grijalva, passed in the House of Representatives this morning. The bill amends the Wild Free-Roaming Horse and Burro Act by adding important new protections and provisions, such as the banning of helicopter round-ups and the reclaiming of land lost by America?s wild horses over the past 30 years.

Thank you so much to all who raised your voices in support of this critical piece of legislation. Now we need to prepare for the Senate vote!

On behalf of the horses, thank you for your support,

I am really excited. I just ordered two copies of one of the horse books of my youth, Jane Marshall Dillon's "Form Over Fences". I am hoping that either this fall or winter to start trotting over crossed poles. I got two copies because I want my teacher, Debbie, to have one so she will know exactly what I want to jump like. She teaches jumping a lot like the Forward Seat, and I think she will enjoy the book.
And then, for the next few months I will re-acquire my eye for a good jump. This book is pure Forward seat by a lady who started at least two Olympic riders. Probably the best (only?) book ever written about this brief moment in time, the parabola over the fence.
