Hi Marie -Lynn. just above the posting reply box there is a camera icon. Click on that and then follow instruction. I find it easiest to place the photo onto your desk top before up loading. Good Luck.

The nice thing for me is I have told myself I have all the time in the world to train my horses. I have about 30 rides on my 5 year old. He is super calm and I only ask for more when I know he is willing. This slow attitude has helped me regain my confidence from a bad fall. We can ask for more forward when we both get a bit more fit.lol

Wow! I am really glad to see this group growing. Nora, I have to get on the horse from the top of a picnic table. Chris, I bought a 2 year old at 55 years old at the age of 55 and boy did I hear about it. Mostly about how silly I was to think I could handle one that young. Still have him 9 years late and he has given me less trouble than all the other horses I have owned combined.

I remember when as a young adult.....I thought that anyone in there 50's was pretty old! Now that I am here......I feel pretty old!!!(just kidding)....

But I do know that physically, at this point, I am not able to ride the way I could when I was younger. I have a small little mare that I can't even jump up on bareback from the ground! But having said that.....if I were to get with a good fitness program, I would have the potential to be a bit more on the athletic side than I am now :)
I've been back riding now for about 6 years, and have owned my horse for 2. I don't know what I would do without her. Especially on those days when I am dog tired and how, after spending time with her, I feel sooo much better.

Anyway....I am happy to be part of the group.....and look forward to some great discussions. I live in Sidney, BC and board at a large barn. But fortunately there are a few of us "good ol gals" and we enjoy riding together and support each other through the sometimes slower "learning curves" and the aches and pains!

Well i am glad there is a group for over fifty as well as over 40, I'm in my late fifties, and started riding again about 3 years ago now. A year ago I bought my first horse - a 4 year old throoughbred. It was probably very foolish of me to buy a green horse, and a thoroughbred , but it was a dream come true, and I am having the best time learning and growing with him.

What a great picture of your mom. Isn't it great that our mom's still think young and are so active. Your dearly departed horse looks a lot like my old guy, same color pattern. I do have a picture of my mom on him as well but it of course is on the old snapshot hard copy. Thanks for sharing PJ

Hi everybody,
I thought I would post a picture that salutes the older crowd and I hope you don't mind I posted a pic of my 80 year old Mom sitting on my dearly departed horse. If someone wants to post another that's ok too. Let me know what you think.

This group seems to be growing fast. That is great that we can come in here to vent, cry, laugh, whine, preen our feathers, or what ever, and we all understand and have been there. I think we all will enjoy each others company. "Ole Ladies Rock" lol

I'll soon be able to join the over 60 group..about another 1.5 years. The over 40 group is great and it looks like several of them are in this group too. My QH Cash, is 8 and I started riding him just before his third birthday.
Green on green, makes black and blue has only been true a couple of times for me, I had a horse as a teenager but then started a family and the horse was acting up terrible so I found her a home with someone that clicked with the horse. Then I waited30 years before I started riding and it's been really great. Dealt with alot of fear issues but it gets better all the time. He's been such a wonderful blessing these past 5 years and I do for sure think they help keep us young. "If they don't kill us. they'll keep us young!" Well it's 1:17a.m. here in the middle of Michigan and this old lady has a cold and needs to get to bed.
Looking forward to getting acquanted with all of ya and here the many horse stories you have to share.

Wow how cool is that! To ride with your Mom on the place where you were born at the age of 92!!! My weathered old hat is off to you! My Mom sat on my old horse Savvy and I have a great pic that I adore. It's in our blood.
