So, I officially joined the 50 crow yesterday on Sunday!  And celebrated my first day in the 50's decade with a trail ride on my somewhat steady steed Guinness (I'm on the dark bay).  Fabulous time, and I know that the 50's will be my best decade yet!  Great to join this group!

Thanks Jackie...I will look into the Back on Track stuff.

I am here in Tuscany and have found a western riding school a few miles outside of Lucca. Seems they have a very good reputation, and all their horses are Mustangs! Wouldn't that be a treat!  They offer 1,2, and 3 hour trail rides thru the countryside of Tuscany, vineyards,...anyone out there ever been riding in Tuscany?

Hi Gayle, welcome back!

I do not have your diagnosis.  However I've had decades of sporadically suffering lower back pain (resulting from a car wreck 30 years ago).

Yes, for the first three years riding made it worse, a lot worse.

What I have found has worked the best for pain and mobility is the Back on Track stuff.  When riding (either on a horse or in a car) triggers my back I get whatever Back on Track product I have in reach and try to keep it on the painful place for at least a few hours.  Usually the pain and debilitating stiffness GOES AWAY until the next time I trigger it.

Good luck in finding a solution that works for you!

HI Horse lovers!   Been while since I have visited here.....I was wondering if anyone has experienced a condition called sacroilitis....inflammation of the sacroiliac joint in other words. I do not know if horse back riding has contributed to this, or it is a combination of the aging bones, and other life stele activities. Any experience with this problem?

Hello Everyone!

Not only am I an older 50 rider but I also am an older 50 career changer!  Three years ago I went back to school at 52 years of age to get my Masters degree so I could create my equine consulting company Happy Horse Healthy Planet and follow my bliss!

That's fine Paula.  I love to see people's comments about their experiences with products, horse-related or not!

Thank you so much for your comments. Karen would you be willing to make your Back On Track comment a testimonial for my website? May I use your comment? Please check out my website - I love Back On Track products. I've had my knee brace for almost eight years. I purchased another brace when I lost some weight. When my knee is really bad I wear it overnight. Sometimes both knees bother me so I wear both braces. They are still going strong even after a number of washes. How about you?

Paula - I love the Back on Track stuff.  I have the ankle brace, gloves and socks.  I have circulation issues and the gloves and socks really do help me stay unfrozen!
