I'm new to Barnmice and to this group!  I'm excited to have found both.  I have 5 horses - 4 TB's and an appaloosa!

Went to talk to the surgeon who is taking out the tumor.  He did a full workup again, it's encouraging that he wants to be thorough.  I got a little freaked out thinking that he didn't believe the previous test saying there was know cancer. But my GP assured me all is well and he just wanted to cover all the bases.  Still know date for surgery as yet, just had CT yesterday (Tues.) so still waiting. I made sure my GP understood that I was going no where and that the tumor and ovaries are to come out.  Then we can move on to the next step of getting my hip fixed so I can get riding and doing things again without all the pain and pain killers.

That's for sure Cindy! At least we have our lovely babies to ride and enjoy- even at a slower pace than desired. Hopefully I'll come right in a week max and can get them going again! And you are a survivor, when it comes to riding!!

Ohh my goodness Vickie!!!! Now I feel sad for you since you have already been waitng so long to ride. Young ones can be difficult and unpredictable even with the best of temperaments.  Guess Comet thought you were all healed up and figured you were ready to be the leader like always.  His inexperience to having you not quite up to snuff yet.  I have been telling myself not to rush, not to rush and I'm finding my 28 yr. old gelding to be the best guy when I'm not quite myself.  Since I can only ride for 10 mins at a time then the pain becomes too unbearable, so I get off and walk about, stretch, etc.  Kind of a drag but it's what I can do at this point, I have high hopes after the surgeries are done and healed, looking at approximately 2 years of this before I will feel somewhat normal and can ride pain free.  Good look my dear, try not to get to down about it all, remember it's all temperary anyway :-))

I rode Comet, the rising 5 yr old last Mon after work. He hadn't been ridden since Thurs. Started out wonderful! Calm, willing. We were doing great. Then I must have got too complacent. He of course saw tigers, as we completed our canter circle at E. Spooked and I came off. Don't know if he stepped on my inside calf or what, but I have a huge, huge hematoma. (Warfarin induced no doubt). After 3 days it was looking worse if anything so I went to the dr, who said no riding till it's better and go home. And I should have been resting it and having it elevated all week!  Not happy here! The horses were just getting back into it, as was I!
