Your comments are all so interesting. At 40-something, I know I'm a lot healthier and active b/c of the horses...they make it okay, when everything else isn't!

Hi Folks, I have been creeping this site for awhile now. I turn 40 next month and don't mind saying that i am looking forward to it. I was always the oldest rider at my previous barn but have a gentleman at the new one who makes me look like a spring chicken. Keeps my spirits up as he is still quite competitive in show jumping and makes a great role model.

Good thinking Eileen! I agree with the Whine and the wine. Gail.

Yes at our age we do not want to be mistaken for a Whine rather than a aged fine Wine. lol there is a big diff. I try not to whimper too much if things don't go right. If the body is whining and not willing the sprit gets out the Wine...works every time. lol

Thanks so much for your "uplift". That's very nice of you. And you're right. We are getting better and also more laid back which is a great thing. I feel that I have way more patience with my horses than I had when I was younger. Not that I ever was verry harsh on them. I just bit my tounge more often back then.

Well it looks like we are all moldie oldies. lol But no matter, the fact is that we get out there and do what we like to do no matter what the calendar says about our age. I am one of the lucky ones that gets to go south in Novemver and I do not return till April I don't bring my horses down here, but I do find horses to ride. As long as they are not rodeo stock I will ride them. lol Love the trails.

Hi Heike, I think I am the oldest rider at my stable too at 59. My leather saddles are much older than most of the other riders at the stable also! In so many ways we all just get better as we get older.
