Glad to see people talking about shifting body parts. I was going to post something a few weeks ago about my hair looking like dry wheat, and now I feel quite comfortable to do so!

On the other side of the coin, I was thinking the other day when I got off my horse, that when I am riding I feel like I don't have an age at all! I'm just me, the same as I was when I got my first horse at 17! My butt may be melting into my thighs, but when I ride, I am AGELESS!!!

Thanks very much for the interest and support with regard to Nuke! Barbara - your comments are most helpful. He will be seen by an internist today who will hopefully shed some light on what's going on and what we can do about it. He was colicky again yesterday morning when Christa saw him, and she really had a hard time with that, but the surgeon had a long talk with her and seems to allayed many of her fears. I'm waiting to hear from the internist this afternoon.

The BD sounds like great exercise and a ton of fun! My favorite TV show (when I have time to watch TV) is a British show called "How to Look Good Naked", and it's all about embracing the body you have, and learning to love and enjoy it. Having just come back from the US Paralympic Nationals I have to say that Dorothy's got the message - be grateful for what you have, and enjoy your horse(s)! If you want to be inspired you should watch those riders work and perform.

Interesting topics, everyone. Been out of the loop a bit ... so much on the go. However, I can associate with the shifting body parts thing. I'm in my mid 40s and while I am fit and active for my age, my body is starting to change nevertheless. Had my BMI taken at my personal training session tonight and it's right where it should be for my age, so I guess I'm doing something right. Regardless, I am grateful every day for my overall physical health that allows me to play safely with my horse. I am really blessed ...

Bastian, I had to reread you post, at first I thought that you were going to post a picture of your toupe' lol, different sizes, colors etc...lol

"Body parts going south" "BD" lol (shakes head) don't get me started. lol If the part has not dried up, fallen off, dissappeard completely or quite working then it definately headed south or hibernated.

Jan I am glad to hear that the trip to Chicago was a positive one for you and your family and your horses. Well ok so the weather was the pits but no none can control that.
Sorry to hear that Nuke is not doing so well, we will all keep our fingers cross for him. It sounds like you have a full plate with all of the horses coming in, good luck with it all.

Hi everyone,
I agree that our bodies sure do change as we get older. I maybe fat, But I am willing to shake my booty, even for the laugh of it all. (I am a comedian, deep down, I think).I want to go BD on the 13th. I think it will be a riot. GOD built me like a Hummer, not a Honda!
Jan, I hope that horse is OK, often times once the kidneys recup from the shock they can return to normal function.( I'm a dialysis nurse).

Ok, I have to post photos of my troupe!
There we are all different sizes and shape, and age!
The one thing about BD is it's very forgiving ;P
I have also dance with a woman in her 60's who is an incredibly beautiful and fluid dancer!
Most women embrace who they are and shake what they got! Go for it!

Cindy I wish you lived closer too, hun'! We'd have a riot!!!

Jan I'm so pleased your trip to the States went so well! Sorry to hear about Nuke, I do hope it all goes well.

I've been watching all this discussion on changing body parts as one ages. Unfortunately we just have to work harder. Anyone try out the new Wii fitness programs. Sound like a good idea, especially if short for time and cannot get to a gym. I tried a few around Christmas and they sure can give you a workout. Just remember to hang onto the controller!

I'm with you there, Jenny! MIne's been steadily sliding south for some time now, and it still catches me off guard when I unexpectedly come across a mirror! Dark sunglasses help a lot...
