Well said Elaine...I agree, you never know what lies ahead...live life the best you can each and every day.

Sorry, I shouldn't be flippant about things like bullets. The truth is I'm safe because I stay indoors at night, but I worry a lot about my students.

I agree with you, Elaine! There is one way money can buy happiness and that's when you use it to buy a horse, but as some of us have proven sometimes the least expensive horse is just as satisfying as the expensive ones.

Eileen you are one of the lucky ones, I sure would like to retire now but hopefully in 9 more years seems like a long way off, but the way the months are flying by will probably be here before i know it. No nest egg set aside but what the hell. As long as I have my horses and good friends and can do what I want who cares.....Money does not bring happiness (it helps) but living life to the fullest is what matters as no one knows what lies around the corner. Do what you can now and do not put off until tomorrow is my motto.

Oh gosh if you are in Mexico right now I hope that you don't catch that crud that is going around. Hopefully you are not in the areas that are the worst hit.

LOL Thanks, Eileen! Hi Peter! I agree with Eileen, two or three times a week sounds great to me. Right now I have to fly home to ride my horse. And I'm hoping with this new bird-and-swine flu here in Mexico they will continue to LET my fly home to ride my horse!

Peter, at least you get to ride a few times a week. That is more than I can say for myself. I am hoping that May will be better for me....it just seems that there is so much to do here right now.
Catherine, Autumn is the best time to ride I think, you must live in Australia or NZ.
Jenny, that is starting a career late isnt it...but hey, like you say at least you knew what your priorities were and kept you horse and were happy with that decision. Good for youl go girl.

Hi every one, I am new to Barnmice and noticed your group, I am over 40, over 50 & will soon be over 60, can I still join your group?

My wife Sue and I have 3 Morgans and a Paint, pressure of business (and life) means we only get to ride 2 or 3 times a week, but we have both been riding since childhood
