Ellin ,
this is truly a difficult business to be in, my board is 400.00 a month , the trainer does haul the horses to shows free of charge. she does not charge extra for anything I really do not know how you and my trainer do it . I do work but when I am off I go to the barn and help clean stalls and spread hay, sometimes I also tack up schooling horses. My grandma would say many hands make light work.
so what do you pay for hay in your parts? i was pleased to only pay $7 a bale. it is often advertised at $10 and in the feed shops, up to $15. alfalfa is around $20.
but enough of that..... i actually rode tonight. life is bliss... even though i found out the report i have been avoiding at work is due thurs. i haven't been able to ride for 2 1/2 weeks due to her losing a shoe, and the farrier was this, was that, all legit, but not putting on my shoe.....
