Very sorry to hear of your loss, I too have an old guy 26yrs. who will one day move on to greener pastures, he is not ill or infirm as yet but I am trying to prepare my heart for that change. Like others are saying rejoice in the memories and pictures you have of him. And tonight the sky is raining tears from heaven for your beloved friend.

So sorry to hear of your loss, I also lost an equine friend many years ago and the pain never goes but the lovely memories also live on. This just came today from Equine Guelph - perhaps you might want to set up a memorial :

Equine Guelph understands what it is like to suffer the loss of a beloved friend.

The new Hoofprints memorial program gives grieving horse owners a positive means to cope with a devastating loss and a loving way to honour the memory of a horse.

Equine Guelph invites you to pay tribute to your horse by sending a photo and a message of remembrance.

We want to remember the legacy of all cherished horses,
and share the story of their lives with other horse-lovers. Go to:

www.EquineGuelph.ca/donations/hoofprints.php

All of us are so darned lucky to share our lives with horses. The down side is when we have to say good-bye. Look back on the wonderful life you gave him, Ann, and the great adventures you had together. Those memories will never leave you.

So sorry for the loss of your special friend. I'm so glad you have some young horses with you to help soften the pain just a bit. Sometimes the cycle of life is very hard to accept.

Ann - so sorry for your loss. I know how it feels to lose a beloved horse. Just think - green grass, no fences.

Ann - that's awful news. It comes to all of us who love animals, but at least we have the option of allowing them to finish out their lives with dignity and without pain.

You have done the most loving thing available to us. You have put aside your own feelings, and taken into account instead the suffering of your horse, and you have done the right and best possible thing.

Dear Ann, I am so sorry you lost your friend.

The cat is sitting on my lap, kneading me while I try to type legibly. I am feeling a bit old tonight as I just had put down today my Polish Arab whom I have owned for more than 18 years. The farrier teared up, when he was last here, upon hearing that the old fellow's kidneys appeared to be failing. I am so glad for the young horses here, they are the continuation of the cycle of life. It is pouring rain tonight on his grave.

Guaranteed! The brand is Tipperary and the model is Phoenix. It was certainly under $200. I love it.

Hey Linda - stops the boobs from bouncing better than a sports bra? I'm all over that!
