cindy you sound terrible. im getting a bit scratchy myself- so it definitely is catching hehe. im still riding in the morning, but this morning was cloudy and dark, so quite quite dark, and we have shadows! to a 4 yr old, those shadows are real scary!! the siamese kitten didn't help either!!
i too feed in my pj's and house coat and gum boots. i throw on my old drizabone when it's raining!

This is wonderful to share the love of horses and especially dressage.

This truly must be the season because I too am sick. I came down with a cold last Monday, nothing serious just a little scratchy throat which by Friday turned into bronchitus. Forget riding I can barely get out and clean the barn and pens. I look pretty funny out there sniffling away, wiping my nose, sneezing, coughing and in my pjs, housecoat and rubber boots. Oh yeah, if it is chilly and cold I'm wearing my ratty old barn coat on top ('cause I'm comfortable, that's all that matters right now!) :-) cough, cough, cough......don't get too close you might catch it :-)

ah dawn! i know what you mean.... you so want to ride, but feel dreadful. just look after yourself otherwise your illness will take longer to sort itself out!! best of luck!

I have been sick for two weeks with who-knows-what! Probably a cold, but it has made it impossible to work AND ride! Work won out. Anyway, now that I'm feeling better, I ride like I'm a beginner again. OMG! It's like all muscle memory and tone vanished! A little frustrating, but I will persevere. Maybe by the time I'm 80, I'll be able to ride a decent dressage test! IF I remember it... Forward 2 steps, backward 17. *SIGH*

i decided to change my schedule and do stalls in the evening and ride in the morning.as it is autumn here and last night with increasing shadows in the arena, delphi was a bit concerned. this morning was great, and the added bonus is that i left for work feeling invincible!! also i have my husband and daughter home when i ride at 6 am!! less chance of an accident not being noticed-not that my sweety does anything naughty!!

I was 47 when I had my first triple by-pass and ended up back in emergency with blood-clots so now am on blood thinners , this all happened after my 1st and 2nd back surgery. So now my back is f'd and well there was never anything wrong with it in the first place. They just blamed all my aches and pains on it.You know the story, your a woman and it all must be in your head kind of thing. So I was lucky when the heart attack happened that my husband doesn't venture far, so my hope is to make it to Mavis's age.

I remember when I found this place so isolated and wonderful people would say to me "Why so far from a hospital"? I just reply. " What could be better for your heart?"
