Frank :)
I understood that you commented on Marys comment :)
By thread I just mean discussion, and to start one you just do like you did before with the "Horse Body Language" that you started before :)
(I just haven't gotten around to reading it yet, but I will)

I was commenting on Mary Ginn's comment. Being a bit "computer challenged", am not all that familiar with "threads". Anyone that would like to may enlighten me at any time. When I see a topic of interest, I add my 2 cents' worth. Especially if I know a "little" of what I'm talking about!

Hello Mary Ginn and Frank :)
Maybe you could make a discussion thread about this, so that it's easier to follow comments? I think it would be great to make seperate threads about the different signals and ways horses express themselves so that we all can participate in talking about what they mean.

Mary G,
Recently read that a horse will display relaxation similar to how a human would do it: exhaling, stretching, are just 2 things we(incl horse) do. I notice that when Gitano is attentive to what we're doing, and has worked hard to accomplish a task; we decide to take a break, he will let out a sigh. I often have to look around to be sure there are no other humans in the immediate area. The sigh sound is very similar to a human sigh sound.

Welcome back Ellen. :-)

I'd like to share an amazing moment with my horsie friends here. You know how when the horses are frisky and playing in the pasture, and they get really excited and happy, and they stop, put their noses in the air, get really big and do a loud exhale? That's not just an Arab thing, is it? And is there a name for that? To me it means the ultimate "I feel great." Am I way off?

Anyway, I was riding on Saturday, cantering in an open field, and my gelding was feeling so good I let him out a little. Nowhere near a run, but when I asked him to stop he did that pose and a loud blow. Woo hoo, I couldn't stop grinning! What a moment to have my horse with just me, working hard, and loving it!

I am still hoping that some of you will copy your answers/comments/questions from the other thread over here so we can continue our discussion. I was a bit afraid that I would kill the dialog by trying to move it here, and it seems like I did a little. Please don't hesitate to add new discussions here :)

As so many have said, I was finding it very difficult to untangle the previous thread. Really happy to be part of this group.
